About

At Lakeview Christian Center we see our young adults as gifts from God, and take seriously our mission to make young adults disciples of Jesus Christ. The Pivot Ministry exists for this purpose.

Specifically, the purpose of Pivot is to build a gospel community of young adults that are gripped by God, growing one another, and going into the world.

The reason we are a gospel community is because apart from the gospel, real, authentic community does not exist. It is only through the gospel that God calls us back into community with Him, His people, and for His purposes.

As a gospel community, we are to be gripped by God. We are to love God with all our heart, mind, and strength as Jesus commands us to (Matthew 22).

What we mean by growing one another is that by the grace of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit we help one another become more like Jesus. Specifically, we do this by living lives that exemplify godliness (2 Timothy 3), and by teaching one another truths from Scripture (Romans 15).

What we mean by going into the world is that we are to be a community that has been so deeply affected by the gospel that we cannot help but share such good news with others around us. We go into the world to share the good news of the gospel as Jesus commands us to (Matthew 28).

This kind of community defines what we are all about at Pivot – it’s our mission.

Connect

Below are the kinds of things we do each month to further our mission:

Pivot Meetings

On the first and third Sunday of each month, we gather here at Lakeview for our Pivot Meeting. The
event starts at 6 p.m. with a free dinner, and afterwards we spend the evening together worshipping
God by singing His truths and listening to His preached Word.

Pivot Lunch

On the second Sunday of each month, grab a lunch after church and head over to Jason & Judith Ann’s
house to hang out, fellowship, and talk about how we can apply sermon we just heard to our lives.

Pivot Café

On the fourth Sunday of each month, we gather here at Lakeview for our Pivot Cafe. The event starts
at 7 pm with some coffee and desserts (we bring the coffee, you bring the dessert), followed by small
group discussion on important topics for the Christian life.

Pivot Socials & Outreaches

Every month we will be having socials and outreaches. You can follow Pivot on Facebook for
details on what we are doing each month.
