Saturday (tomorrow), Pivot Care Team Project
Join us tomorrow as we put on our loud green t-shirts and serve the community of Lakeview. We’ll be meeting immediately after our Saturday service at 1st Assembly to have a quick lunch (right there at 1st AG), change into work clothes, and caravan over to Lakeview to clean yards for our future neighbors back in the Lakeview area.
We’ve done this before and though it seems small it has had a powerful affect on the neighborhood. Ever since we launched the Incarnate team back in late November we’ve been looking for ways to serve and communicate care for the larger body of Lakeview and the surrounding community. The Beacon of Hope has its hands full with dozens of homes needing yard work to dress up the area and help people feel better about moving back into the area.
You bring a change of clothes to the morning service or, if you can’t make that service, meet us at 1st AG for 12:30pm on Saturday, have lunch and follow us out there. We’ll have the tools, bottled water, and everything else. We’ll only be working for a few hours, so hopefully we can gather a small army and get a lot done before we pack up and head back home. Thanks to the many of you who have signed up. Can’t wait to serve alongside you all.
Coram Deo Pivot Retreat – down to the wire
If you haven’t made a decision yet about coming to the Pivot retreat, now is the time to go ahead and decide to come! Last week we jumped from 30 something attendees to the upper 90′s! Young couples, singles of all ages, from whatever church you attend – we’d love to see you all there. The plans are all in place, the buses will be waiting to load up hopefully 100+ people who are eager to worship, wonder, and stand in awe of God, deepen friendships, and take new steps toward building a Coram Deo community – a community of singles and young couples who want to live all of life Before the Face of God. To register, either call the church office (504-488-1924) or go to the resource table after service this weekend. Registration will have to be cut off either this weekend or very early this week since the bus company needs a firm answer from us on how many buses we’ll need. We’re right on the verge of having to hold onto bus #3. We’ll see. Register now!
