School of the Word

The Westminster Shorter Catechism says, “The Scriptures principally teach: 1) what man is to believe concerning God, and 2) what duty God requires of man.”

The purpose of the School of the Word is to train believers in both theology and practice. We seek to offer courses that equip the church in its study of God and in its living out the Christian life. It is our great desire and central goal that the believers who call this church home be captivated by the greatness of God as He is revealed in His Word in such a tremendous measure that it transforms them more and more into the image of Christ. In Scripture, we are taught that it is by “beholding the glory of God” that we are “being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another” (2 Cor. 3.18). Therefore, it is our mission to dive into Scripture and search for manifestations of the glory of God, that in beholding and treasuring it we might be transformed into its likeness.

The focus of the School of the Word is to equip and edify the church through in-depth teaching of the Word. Various classes are offered and are intended to minister to people who are at various levels of maturity in Christ. We seek to offer classes in the following categories: verse-by-verse Bible study, theology and bible doctrines, and Christian life skills (parenting, marriage, finances, apologetics, world religions, etc.)

School of the Word takes place on Sunday mornings at 8:45 am in Rm. 200.
