20 Sermon Recommendations

If you are a part of LCC, and you serve or are interested in serving in some aspect of corporate worship ministry, then hopefully you attended our Covenant Group Worship Development Class which just ended last weekend. We took a broadbrush across foundational aspects (i.e., “What is worship and why do we do it?”) to feet-on-the-ground applications for ministry in our Small Groups (“How do I put together a song set for my small group meeting?”). You may listen to those messages here.
We knew that this small context for addressing corporate worship ministry would fall far short of being a comprehensive resource, so the plan is to come back next year and do a supplemental teaching series on similar themes. The good news is that you don’t have to wait for that!
One of the primary things I’m going after in this blog is to take opportunities to put you in the students’ desk next to me as I learn from godly leaders and teachers. So, you’re hopefully coming to a place of familiarity with names like Packer, Ferguson, Piper and Mahaney. Once again, on this subject there’s no one I’ve benefited more from than our long-distance friend and mentor, Bob Kauflin.
Here Kauflin passes along several recommended listening resources for beefing up our understanding of worship, broadly considered, and the ministry of corporate worship in particular.
